I'm Dan.

I passionately believe in the power of design as a tool for solving tough marketing challenges, and the power of art direction to make great ideas memorable, to stand out and work harder.

I believe design and art direction at their best should be bold, thought-provoking and memorable. The work should be thoughtfully conceived and painstakingly crafted – in digital media as well as print. It should be original, timeless (almost impossible to date), and most importantly, effective.

Over the last 30 years I have worked in advertising, branding, packaging and publishing, as both a hands-on practitioner and a creative director on some of the most influential brands in the world. My work has been recognised at almost every major award show including Design Week, New York Festivals and Cannes Lions. At D&AD I have received a rare Silver Pencil for Typography, appeared in The Annual 45 times and as a judge on many occasions including once on the prestigious Black Pencil jury.

Currently based in London and serving as Chief Design Officer for T&Pm, I lead the Design & UX practice across the network and focus on the Toyota and Lexus brands, and brand design and brand world projects.

This follows a three year stint covering the agency's entire output in North America but focused on its work for The Wall Street Journal, TELUS and projects for Credit Suisse and tech giant Arconic. Also in New York, I was most proud to lead our successful creative pitch for the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Previously I was a partner at CHI&Partners, working in a number of roles including Head of Art and Creative Director on the agency's design business where I led the redesign of the British Gas, TalkTalk and National Express brands. Prior to that I was Head of Design at TBWA\London.

Brand Experience Highlights:
